Maintenance Tips

Do not place any electrical appliances below the fan coil. The drain water may overflow and damage your equipment.
Do not share the aircon's power point with any other electrical devices.
Clean the aircon casing using a soapy cloth, rinse, and wipe dry.
Do not use water warmer than 50°C to avoid deformation or discoloration of the casing.
Remove dirt from the filter by either tapping it lightly or using a vacuum cleaner on it.
When the filter is particularly dirty, remove it and wash it thoroughly with clean water.
Dry the filter by shaking off the water on it and leaving it (outside of direct sunlight) to dry.
When reinstalling, ensure that the filter is properly mounted by following the markings.
Do not immerse the air filter in water warmer than 40°C as this may deform the filter.
Do not wipe your aircon with chemicals such as gasoline, benzine or paint thinners.

Do not spray insecticide on it. Doing this could cause damage to the aircon or discoloration of its casing.

TROUBLE SHOOTING SCENARIOS
1.   Aircon is not Cooling Enough
2.   There is Water Leakage
3.   Aircon is Noisy
4.   Aircon is not Working Properly

1. Aircon is not Cooling Enough

Undercapacity
Leaving the door or windows open, direct sunlight or having too many people in the room may cause the air to become overly warm.

Gas Leakage
Should you find any oil marks, it may be a sign of gas leakage. Report to us for inspection. As the gas pipes are not normally exposed, our technicians are unable to confirm leakage at the first check. Monitor the coolness of the aircon after the gas has been charged. If the coolness drops after three days, this is usually due to the pipe having been ruptured, and will require major repair work. If the coolness drops after two weeks, the cause is likely the joints (nuts or valves) having become loose. Report to us for checking.

Air Short Cycle
If the flap is set to a horizontal position, this will cause the cold air to short cycle. The aircon should have at least 1.5m of free space from any obstructions.

Aircon is Due for Chemical Cleaning
Contact us or your installer (see maintenance schedule).

2. There is Water Leakage

Problem with the Drainage Pipe
If your aircon constantly leaks water, even after our technician has purged the drain pipe, this may be due to the poor gradient of the drainage system. You will need to re-install your aircon or constantly apply chemicals, where re-install work become impossible.

Poor Insulation Material
Condensation will occur if the thickness of the insulation is wrong has deteriorated, or if the pipes are improperly joined.

3. Aircon is Noisy

Gas Noise
A short hissing sound, lasting for about three to six seconds is normal for all aircons. If this bothers you, you can either lower the temperature or call us to put in more gas.

Vibrating Noise
Usually caused by an uneven wall surface or if the fan coil bracket is not secured properly. The bracket should always be hung on a solid support. For outdoor unit, vibration noise is usually caused by the machine that is not level or when there is no rubber pad installed.

Slight Contract and Expansion Sound
This is normal when you switch on the aircon, and will stop once the aircon is in full capacity.

Normal Wear and Tear
The bearing housing and motor may wear off if you do not carry out proper maintenance. Due to the dust adding on weight, placing an unbalancing force upon the bearing, the bearing will wear out faster, creating unnecessary noise.

Humming
A condenser normally generates noise. If this bothers you, you can add a sound absorber.

4. Aircon is not Working Properly

The Aircon Cannot be Switched On/Off
Reset the 15A socket or the MCB/Isolator switch. Change the battery in the remote control. Do not reset the ACL button when doing this.

Interference of Light Source
If a strong light source is shining at the aircon sensor, it will disrupt the signals sent by the remote control.

The Aircon Switches on by Itself
This could be caused by having more than one remote control in a room and when one remote control switches on the others accidentally. Check the TIMER Lamp at the fan coil (for indoor units). The timer may be set to switch the aircon on at a fixed time.
