Ensure that the aircon has sufficient cooling capacity for your rooms. Window units are low cost and easy to maintain, split aircons are low noise, twin or tri-con models if you have limited space to install the condenser unit.

What is a Comfortable Living Environment? |
 |
While individuals have differing standards of comfort, studies show that most people feel at their most comfortable at a temperature of 24°C and a relative humidity (RH) ratio of 55%. The ideal temperature for storing most equipment is 22°C with 50% RH. The amount of fresh air also affects the comfort level. While fresh air reduces cooling capacity, it increases the amount of oxygen in the room. Fresh to recycled air ratio is usually 3:10. The cooling load is estimated on the maximum heat condition plus an additional 10%. In Singapore, this is based on 3pm on a day in July - 3pm being the peak hour and July being the hottest month of the year.
